Apollo's Story

Age: 5 years old
Weight: 50 lbs

Apollo has been through a lot, but you’d never know it by the way he wags his tail when he sees you.

We rescued this sweet, smushy-faced boy from the streets of Downtown LA, where he’d been passed between several unhoused individuals. We know he was used for breeding at one point and that at least three different people cared for him while he was living on the street. When we found him, Apollo was overheating, struggling to breathe, limping, and suffering from extreme allergies.

Since coming into our care, Apollo has begun the beautiful process of decompressing—and wow, has he shown us what a loving and gentle soul he is. He adores his crate (his safe space), loves being pet, and will happily wag his little tail to say hello.

Apollo is currently living with a female pit bull foster sister and two cats, and he’s doing great with all of them. He loves spending time on the porch, where he can relax and watch the world go by. While he doesn’t have the best stamina, he still enjoys walks, playtime with toys, and loves playing with other dogs. In fact, he’d love to have a dog sibling in his forever home to keep him company and share in the fun.

He’s around 5 years old and weighs in at a compact, muscular 50 pounds—a true “dense boy” with a small frame and a big heart.

That said, Apollo will do best with an experienced dog owner—ideally someone familiar with bully breeds or who understands the importance of structure and clear boundaries. He thrives when given routine, and his crate remains an essential part of his daily rhythm. He’s very sweet and pretty chill, but he still needs guidance to continue building confidence and trust.

In the right home, we know Apollo is going to thrive—and make someone incredibly happy in the process.
