Antonio's Story

While driving home on Friday June 12,26. A policeman was trying to stop traffic and asking for help in order to get these two babies off the busy highway. We were flagged to pull over and so it was another car.<br/><br/>We quickly assess the situation and help the police officer to wreck the dogs to the grass area after the busy highway. The little five week old puppy was easily grabbed, but after that happened, the other person that was stopped decided to leave. Leaving me, my daughter and the police officer to try to trap and help the six month old Shepherd<br/><br/>After 2 1/2 hours, we were obviously knowledgeable about the dynamic of the older dog wanting to protect the baby so we used the baby to lure the six month old shepherd to follow us and finally get out of exit 26 into a more secure area while doing this we helped get him tired so we could quickly grab him. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, after rescuing both the dogs, the police officer left leaving us with both the puppies we can no longer take care of them since we still have 54 animals under our care with no financial help or help whatsoever.<br/><br/>Weve had both the dogs for two days and weve noticed that they are both puppies in hearts and love each other. Its usually the mom protecting the baby. He plays gently tug-of-war with the baby and gives them a bath. From what weve noticed the Shepherd sits down and shakes paw and walk on a leash he absolutely loves. Then come for an interview so they can also meet all the potential pups and cats available and then fill out a contract where it states that the animal will not be locked up will not be tied up to a tree and will not be suffering in the new home.
