Annie's Story

Quick Stats
-Spayed female
-2-3 years old
-Current on vaccinations
-Micro chipped
-Heartworm negative and on prevention
-Very food motivated
-Walks great on a leash
-Had training at Starmark Academy
-Takes time to warm up so looking for an experienced home with no other dogs or kids
-Very loving & loyal to her own people
-Location: Austin area

Annie is a gorgeous and reserved yet sweet German Shepherd, who is currently looking for her forever home. She also needs an experienced Foster Home willing to continue working on the skills she learned at Starmark Academy. All of our usual regular Foster Homes have too many other dogs and she would not receive one on one time.

Annie is extremely bonded to those who will take the time to build a relationship with her. Annie has done a 5-week board and train and has excellent manners.

This girl is a work in progress, but what wonderful progress she has made! When her trainer first met Annie, she was unable to approach her without her getting reactive. But trainers are up for a challenge right! So what a great training “prop”, a dog that really needed someone with patience & understanding.

All Annie needed was some structure and guidance on what the world may bring her, as she was just a very unsocialized 2-year-old with a fear of everything. After those 5 weeks Annie was a changed dog and was able to allow people to approach and was fully comfortable being herself inches away from new people.

Annie is very food motivated! Aren’t we all!?! She will build a relationship quick with some high value treats and slow movements. Annie must have had a really difficult puppyhood where she didn’t receive the patience and guidance that puppy require.

Annie has spent majority of her life in a shelter type environment so of course she would fear the world and be selective with branching out to people, but once she is your friend she will adore you HARD. She’ll be your biggest fan girl! Annie absolutely loves the grass and any chance she gets will do the zoomies. She loves to play fetch and will bring the ball back to you until she can’t go anymore.

Annie’s cutest move is to put the front half of her body on you and “talk” while she slowly rolls over onto her back for a belly rub. She is crate trained and house trained and loves her place bed. Annie would do best in a single person household (maybe two if willing to be patient with her) with no children and a single dog home.

If you want a dog that will be sooooo very loyal and are willing to put in the time (and treats) to earn her trust, you’ll have a bffff, best furry friend forever for sure!

Link to Application:
http://www.gsdrescuectx.com/adoption-application.html
