Annie's Story
Meet Annie. Annie is a 1 year old Terrier mix who weighs 14 pounds and is looking for a very special, patient home. She came to us from the Riverside Shelter in January after being found alone in a field. Understandably, Annie arrived extremely shy and fearful, and learning to trust people has been a slow process. She is a quiet, gentle girl with a loving heart, but she is still very guarded and nervous.

Annie is potty trained and finds comfort sleeping in bed close to her foster family, even though she is not yet ready for much physical affection. She currently prefers observing rather than interacting and does not play with the other dogs or seek out attention from people. We continue to work with her every day, giving her the time and space she needs to feel safe and build confidence at her own pace.

Annie is not the dog who will immediately run into your arms, but we believe there is a beautiful little personality waiting to emerge as she learns that the world can be a safe place. She needs a calm, understanding person who does not expect affection right away and will find joy in the small victories that come with earning her trust. For the right person willing to give her patience, consistency, and time, watching Annie slowly blossom could be something truly special.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt

Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check

Breeds and age are not guaranteed.
Click here to watch a video of Annie.
