Annie's Story
From Annie's Foster Mom:

Meet Annie — our sweet, soulful hound mama looking for her forever home.

When Annie first arrived at the shelter, she was pregnant and soon gave birth to eight puppies. (She is now spayed.) She’s been an incredible mom, and that gentle, nurturing spirit is still a big part of who she is. Annie gets along beautifully with other dogs—we’ve yet to see her meet one she doesn’t like. Even our dog, who is usually very selective, became fast friends with her.

Annie is a laid-back girl who enjoys the simple things. Her perfect day starts with sleeping in (she’s not much of an early riser), getting a good head scratch, followed by a couple of leisurely walks—especially when the weather is nice. After that, she’s happiest relaxing nearby while you read or unwind. She loves having her own cozy space to retreat to. She occasionally gets bursts of energy and wants to play.

She currently lives in a busy home with four older kids and does well in that environment. However, she can get a little nervous around very loud or high-energy younger children, so we think she’d thrive best in a home with older kids or a calmer setting. That said, Annie has never shown any aggression—she’s just a sensitive soul who appreciates a peaceful environment.

Like many dogs, Annie isn’t a fan of loud noises. Fireworks and sudden bangs can make her anxious, and she’ll look for a safe place to hide. With a little preparation and support, she’ll continue to build confidence.

One of Annie’s cutest quirks? When she sees her leash, her tail doesn’t just wag—it spins in full circles like a helicopter. It’s impossible not to smile watching her excitement for a walk.

Annie is a loving, gentle companion who deserves a home where she can feel safe, relaxed, and cherished. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate dog with a big heart, Annie might be the perfect fit for your family.
