Annie's Story

Hi there! Annie here.

I really love my foster home, but I’m looking for a furever home of my very own. Could it be with you?

I’m about 9–10 months old and currently weigh around 55 pounds. I’m already a very tall girl, so my foster mom doesn’t think I’ll get much taller, but I might fill out a little as I grow. As for my DNA... well, I’m not exactly sure what DNA is, but my foster mom thinks I might have some Catahoula Leopard Dog, Lab, or Shepherd in me. Whatever I am, I’m pretty darn cute! Or so they tell me!

My story started out a little scary. I was found in a ditch in Texas with my mom and brother. Because of that experience, I can be pretty shy when I first meet new people or other dogs. I like to sit back, take everything in, and assess the world with my soulful eyes before I show you who I really am.

I’m currently being fostered with two other dogs and two cats, and I absolutely love my foster dog siblings. I would prefer another dog in the house to learn and play with. As for the cats, I’m very respectful of them. I understand that they deserve their space, and I’m happy to give it to them.

I also enjoy going on walks with my foster siblings, and I’m a really good walker!

As for kids, I haven’t had much experience being around them yet up here in Maryland. I think I’d probably be okay with respectful, dog-savvy kids, but given my shy and reserved nature when I first meet new people, I may be a little more cautious or reserved around children at first. I’d just need some patience, gentle introductions, and time to feel comfortable. Once I know I’m safe, I’m sure my cuddly side will come shining through!

At home, I’m all about relaxing and believe every sofa and human bed should have a spot reserved just for me.

I can be left alone and trusted in the house without being crated, which is pretty awesome for a young pup like me. At night, I much prefer to snooze beside my human. And during the day, I’m perfectly happy to let you work while I curl up at your feet and keep you company.

I’d really love a family of my own where I can finally show the world who I truly am. I have so much love to give, and I’m just waiting for someone willing to give me a little time, patience, and a whole lot of love in return.

Could that someone be you?
If you’re looking for a big, soulful, goofy girl to join your family, Annie would love to meet you.
