<p>Annie arrived from a Kentucky shelter, underweight, scared and overwhelmed with the world. She hid in her crate, afraid to explore her new home and seek comfort from her new human family.</p><br/><br/><p>Well, with time, love, and patience Annie has blossomed into a totally different dog. She still loves her crate but loves snuggling with her humans and hanging with her canine companions even more. She happily curls up in a soft bed, or in a vacant space in between her humans on the couch. And belly rubs? Absolutely, especially coupled with happy wiggles!</p><br/><br/><p>Walks? She adores them and is terrific on a leash! The minute you pull out a leash, she races around the yard with pure joy and exuberance. And once around the block does not count as a walk in her book. She puts the breaks on to insist on a "real" walk should you try and short change her.</p><br/><br/><p>Annie has thrived in a home with other dogs. She has watched and learned from them and looks to them for confidence and reassurance. She puzzles herself in between her foster siblings to happily chew on a bone or try and removes the innards from a stuffed toy. She races after the other dogs in the yard and then intently follows all the fun wildlife scents in the yard.</p><br/><br/><p>She also knows to potty outside and sleeps perfectly in her crate. She will vocalize when she is excited to run outside or about to be fed, but she does not bark excessively. She is also food motivated, and has happily gained weight since her arriving in foster care.</p><br/><br/><p>Annie is seeking a forever home with another canine companion and humans who will continue to help her build her confidence and find joy in the world around her. Her impish personality has really emerged, and we think she will make an awesome addition to a family willing to be patience with her as she settles into a routine. Please note that although she has come a long way from the terrified shelter dog, loud, unfamiliar noises will still startle her and make her nervous. Given her timid nature, we do think she will do better in a more residential environment.</p><br/><br/><p>She is currently being fostered in Bethlehem, PA, and any potential adopter will need to come and meet her in person.</p> If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application.
