Angus's Story
My name is Angus and you may have seen my story on Facebook. I have a tough time putting into words what I have been through in 4 years of my life. The abuse, abandonment, and true heartbreak don’t even come close to describe my life.

I want to tell you the good stuff as it matters the most. Amazing people rescued me. The Sula family loves fiercely, passionately and till the end and I can feel their love. I am safe and I am getting help from amazing vet and all the people that meet me.

Did you know that you can heal a broken heart? I have also learned that being misunderstood does not mean that I am a bad dog, but I was trying to survive horrendous situation that was not my fault. I was scared and I was alone.

Okay, I don’t want to think about the past anymore, it will give me nightmares. I want to say that my present and future are filled with kindness and love.

The reality is that I am a large, black dog and we are hard to adopt in the best of circumstances. Therefore, I am asking for a sponsor to help me thrive and live my best life at the Sula Society rescue. And if the stars align and someone out there will see me and want to share their life with me – I would love that!

We adopt out our dogs locally in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico as well as Canada and the United States. Once adopted we fly the dog with a volunteer flight angel to their forever home (nearest airport.)

What does it cost to adopt me?

The adoption costs are $3,000 MXN for Mexican Nationals, $550 CND Canadian or $400 USD for Temporary or Permanent residents living in Mexico. Adoption costs for dogs adopted in countries other than Mexico are $750 CND or $600 US dollars. Don't forget, wherever you live, to budget for all the other things your new fur-baby will need.

What does the fee include?

Vet blood work and check up, including all needed follow-ups, any medications needed to get him healthy, spay or neuter by vet, food and care while at SULA, the vet pre-flight check up and clearance and any needed meds before flying, transport to the airport, all paperwork, all vaccinations, the cost for the airline transport, and use of a kennel in transport, harness and leash for arrival, and endless love.

About Us

The SULA Society - Saving Unloved Lovable Animals.

We are a dog rescue and shelter in Mexico that gives the homeless dogs of Puerto Vallarta a second chance. Every dog deserves to have a happy home.

We are a group of volunteers led by mother-daughter team Barbara and Lisa who provide veterinary care, shelter, and rehabilitation for dogs in Puerto Vallarta.

Adoption application link is below:
https://www.thesulasociety.com/application

If you have any questions please contact us here:
https://www.thesulasociety.com/contact

Thank you for considering adoption of a rescue dog!
https://www.thesulasociety.com/
