A kind <br/>Samaritan brought him into our vet to be euthanized because his one leg was completely mangled. Our vet said he was too sweet and adorable to be put down, so they called us for help, and then the vet just amputated the bad rear leg. Angelo has adjusted very well after his surgery. He is happy and running about just like before losing his leg (although he can’t jump up as well as before, so sometimes he needs a little help going up stairs or getting into the car). Other than that, you would never know he is a little tri-pod doggie!<br/><br/>Personality:<br/>Angelo is just the sweetest, most affectionate, calm, intelligent, well-mannered dog we have ever met. This little cutie LOVES to be around people! He enjoys being petted, getting belly rubs, giving kisses, and would make a wonderful, fluffy, little lap dog! Angelo enjoys going for short walks at a moderate pace, and loves to ride in the car. He is a very mellow little boy with a very gentle, loving disposition. <br/><br/>Training:<br/>Angelo is crate trained and housebroken. Although, because of his recent surgery, it will take a bit of transition for him to be fully housebroken for overnight time (his bladder needs to be re-trained for longer periods). We recommend temporarily providing him with a wee-wee pad or a bellyband for periods longer than 5-6 hrs, just in case. Angelo does very well on a leash, but he doesn't yet know any obedience commands (although he is currently learning).<br/><br/>Would Do Best:<br/>Angelo would prefer to find a fur-ever home with someone who he can spend the majority of the day with; any other mellow small pets are a plus! He doesn’t like to spend much time alone. He would make an ideal fulltime companion dog.<br/><br/>Vet Record:<br/>Angelo is healthy, neutered, currently vaccinated (including rabies) and micro-chipped.<br/><br/>Cats, Dogs, and Kids:<br/>Angelo is great with other dogs, but of course should not be placed in a home with large or high-energy dogs that might accidently injure him. He would do fine in a home with cats if properly introduced, and in a home with older kids who would be gentle with him and understand that he needs his space.
