Angelica's Story

Earlier this year, a small all-breed rescue in the mountains reached out to us about a Pyr suffering in their community. Neighbors had been trying to catch a dog who was limping and hiding in a wooded area. This had been ongoing for months. Why was the dog hopping about in three legs? The other rescue brought in a humane trap and caught a sweet young female. Like so many dumped dogs, she was hesitant to approach strangers, but once trapped, she has never met a stranger. We agreed to take her.

Angelica is 10 or 11 months old. Someone clearly dumped her in this area -- none of those working together to catch her claimed her or had seen her before. We were relieved to learn that Angelica didn't have a serious injury. Her paw was caught in a poorly-fitted collar. While her leg and foot were sore, they are not permanently injured, and Angelica is now moving around normally. She was seriously underweight at intake. Angelica was starving -- no puppy can feed herself, especially one moving around on three paws. She weighed 40 lbs. and has gained about that much weight.

Angelica is a loving, friendly girl, and she is beautiful! She is a confident girl, and she is best matched with a socia, mellowl male dog her size. She deserves a home where she won't ever be hungry again. If that's your home, email us at president@carolinapyrrescue.com.
