Andy's Story

Meet Andy!

6 months old
35 lbs
Neutered Male

Andy recently made the journey from Mississippi to Illinois after spending time in boarding with his siblings, and hes been blossoming more every day in his foster home.

Andy has such a sweet personality that begins to shine as soon as he meets people. Having confident resident dogs around has helped him gain so much courage, and he absolutely loves playing with his canine friends.

Beneath his playful side is a total cuddle bug. One of Andys favorite things is slowly inching closer until hes completely melted against your side. He adores giving kisses, and nothing makes his eyes sparkle more than hearing what a good boy he is. Andy is eager to please and responds wonderfully to praise, treats, and positive reinforcement, making him a joy to train.

Andy is doing fantastic with house training. His foster home has a doggy door, which he learned to use almost immediately, and he understands that outside is the place to potty. Hes also crate trained and keeps his crate clean and dry overnight and while his foster family is away.

Andy is wonderful with children and has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes him a great family companion.

Andy has not done well with cats. He becomes very excited and overstimulated, barking and wanting to chase, so were looking for a cat-free home where he can be successful.

While we dont know Andys exact breed, we suspect theres some hound in his family tree. He loves following his nose on every adventure, and his adorable bark often turns into a sweet little hound howl. He also has a stubby little docked tail.

Andy is the perfect mix of playful puppy and loving snuggle buddy. If youre looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, cover you in kisses, and happily curl up beside you at the end of the day, Andy is ready to find his forever family!

If youre looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love and unwavering devotion, Heidi may just be the missing piece of your family.
Interested in adopting?
