Andromeda's Story
Meet Andromeda!! (case #11164)

Part of a stellar litter of seven named after constellations, Andromeda is ready to shine in a home of her own. She arrived at the shelter alongside her devoted mom (a Belgian Malinois) and her siblings and now she’s looking for a family ready to help her reach for the stars.

At just 2 months old, Andromeda is already making her personality known — she’s the bold “boss girl” of the bunch. Confident and curious, she approaches life with fearless enthusiasm and isn’t easily fazed by new sights or sounds. She’s an active, people-loving puppy who seeks out attention, thrives on interaction, and brings a playful, affectionate energy wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a pup who wants to be part of everything you do, Andromeda is your girl.

She’s also highly food motivated, which is a fantastic foundation for training. With the right guidance, she has all the makings of a responsive and eager learner. That said, her confidence and drive mean she’ll need structure from day one—positive reinforcement training, consistent boundaries, and thoughtful, controlled socialization will be key in helping her grow into a well-mannered adult.

Because her mom is a Malinois and dad is unknown (her litter shows a mix of looks—some bully-type, some boxer-like), adopters should be prepared for a medium-to-large, energetic dog with intelligence and working-drive tendencies. This isn’t a “set it and forget it” puppy — Andromeda will need both physical exercise and mental enrichment every single day. Think walks, play sessions, training games, puzzle toys, and outlets that keep her busy and fulfilled.

Like all puppies, Andromeda comes with the full starter pack of challenges:
House training and crate training will take time, patience, and consistency
Teething means she’ll need appropriate chew toys (and supervision!)
She’ll need help learning manners—no jumping, nipping, or stealing socks
Socialization is crucial during this stage to build confidence in the right ways
Ongoing training is not optional—it’s essential for a pup with her intelligence and drive

Andromeda will thrive in an active, patient home that’s ready for the commitment of raising a large, energetic dog. Previous experience with working or high-energy breeds is a big plus, or at minimum, a willingness to learn and stay consistent with training and enrichment.

In return, you’ll get a loyal, engaging, and incredibly fun companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with energy, affection, and a little bit of cosmic chaos

If you’re ready to invest the time, structure, and love this bright little star needs, Andromeda is ready to light up your life. Her adopters must be willing to return her for this surgery, which is included in the adoption fee.

Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families.

*Please note: we only adopt within Ontario
