Andrew's Story

Please help Andrew find his ONE and ONLY and FINAL family! He is a 4.5yr old purebred Doberman who has returned to rescue for a second time. We try so hard to set him up for success and will answer any questions someone may have! We want his next home to be his last. So we will be extremely particular about the family who is lucky enough to do life with him! He will require a home with someone who will commit to being the calm and confident handler he needs AND provide the daily structure and routine that will ensure his success. Any dogs in the home will also have to be well trained and stable minded. Andrew is very crate trained, eager to please, and has a basic understanding of obedience. He likes a good walk every day and to romp around the backyard pretending to catch rabbits that are much quicker than he is. Andrew can annoy other dogs pretty easily with his play style so an ideal home would be with dogs that are also exercised separately on a schedule/highly supervised when together, or no other dogs. He is quiet in the house but will let you know when its potty time! He will also bark at neighbors/strangers but once they approach he allows petting. People who are unknown to him have been able to enter the house and let him out once they give a few little treat bribes and he goes to the boarding kennel (with multiple staff) with no issues. In 2024, Andrew came into rescue with a broken humerus. This has since healed and he runs around like crazy but keeping his weight down is imperative to making him feel his best so please dont feel like you need to love him with food! If you are a true lover of the Doberman breed and would like to meet Andrew - send us a message! www.barkmn.org
