If you walk past our C Dorm, you'll hear plenty of barking. Dogs are jumping, spinning, and doing their best to convince you to stop at their kennel. Then you'll get to Anchor.<br/><br/>More often than not, he's sitting there with a smile on his face, quietly hoping you'll pick him.<br/><br/>It's hard not to notice him.<br/><br/>Anchor came to us as a stray, but we learned he once had someone who cared deeply about him. Despite finding himself back in a shelter, being underweight, and even losing part of his tail due to chronic happy tail, Anchor hasn't let any of it dampen his spirit.<br/><br/>In fact, we're not entirely sure he knows how to be unhappy.<br/><br/>He's the kind of dog who seems genuinely pleased just to be included. Whether he's going for a walk, meeting new people, or exploring the yard, Anchor approaches life with a quiet optimism that's hard not to admire.<br/><br/>During his dog test, he was excited to say hello, got his greetings out of the way, and then happily wandered off to do his own thing. Because of this, we think he could do well with a respectful canine companion. Cats, however, are not for Anchor. He thinks chasing them is a game, and the cats strongly disagree.<br/><br/>Anchor is wonderful with children and would fit into many different types of homes. One thing to note is that he is not comfortable being crated and will need a family that can safely manage him without one.<br/><br/>Some dogs demand your attention the second you see them. Anchor isn't that dog.<br/><br/>Instead, he sits patiently, wearing that same happy smile, waiting for someone to notice him.
