Anchor's Story

Meet Anchor, a 6-year-old basset mix who is a gentle soul with the heart and spirit of a puppy. At his previous home he lived primarily outdoors, so he is currently learning how to be a good boy living inside the house. Anchor is good with other dogs, though he can be socially awkward and is still learning appropriate dog social cues. This is likely because he was separated from his mom at only 6 weeks old and was not raised around other dogs. Overall, he is a very loving, goofy, and well-meaning boy.<br/>Anchor just needs someone who will be patient and consistent with him as he continues learning how to navigate life as an indoor family dog. He would love a fenced yard where he can safely burn off some of his puppy energy, and he would really enjoy having a playful canine buddy to help show him the ropes. Anchor is overall very healthy except that he has environmental allergies that have gone untreated until recently. We are happy to report that his hair is starting to grow back. If you’re looking for a sweet companion and are willing to help him live his best life, then Anchor may be the perfect match. He’s a very easy boy to fall in love with.
