Amora - **ADOPTION FEE WAIVED**'s Story

Amora is a 2.5 year old pit bull/boxer mix looking for her forever family! Amora first came to us in 2024 having been starved so severely, she was unable to stand on her own. After months of attentive care, quality veterinary medicine, and good nutrition, Amora was healthy enough to be adopted!

She was adopted to a loving family, but sadly returned a year later due to no fault of her own - being a boxer mix, she has big energy at times and the young children in the home were scared of her. Despite lots of work to get the young kids comfortable with her, it just wasn't working; and poor Amora - who LOVES children and people in general - was not getting the attention she desperately wanted.

Amora is now in a foster home with two dogs and four kids (ranging in age from 11mo to 10yrs) and is doing FANTASTIC. She loves to play fetch with the kids; watch over them as they do their homework and color at the kitchen table; and snuggle on the couch in the evenings. Amora is healthy, social, potty trained, and great in her kennel. She does struggle with seasonal allergies (white pittie problems!), but her previous owners had her covered by insurance and have kept the insurance active to transfer to her new family, so her allergy care is always covered!

Don't sleep on your opportunity to adopt Amora... she really is a perfect girl!
Apply to adopt here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/6476b07912357a9a4606eddf/65e5f494bbcee62ce206d0fe

Make A Stand Bully Rescue's Adoption Policy
All applicants must first complete a rigorous 6 page adoption application which is sent to our team to review. Questions are specific to dog ownership and bully ownership, in addition to questions regarding the environment the dog may be living in, if approved. Once we receive the application, we review the answers and request additional information from the applicant, to include home check pictures (both internal and external); veterinary reference (if applicable); and for some applicants, personal reference checks. Then our team members complete phone interviews with top candidates to have a conversation with the applicant and truly determine if the dog they're interested in is actually the right fit for the home environment. It would be at this point that we suggest other matches, if necessary. Once a home has been approved by our team members, we schedule a meet and greet followed by the adoption day. For some dogs, we offer foster-to-adopt trial periods so we can ensure both the dog and the home are matched well. Post adoption, we provide lifelong resources and community network to ALL adopters.
