Meet Ammy (short for Amtrack)! This adorable girl is 35lbs and a suspected beagle/lab mix of some sort. Although her breed is a guess, we are certain she is 100% adorable. <br/><br/> Ammys story didnt start off all rainbows and butterflies. For the first years of her life, she found herself at an Amtrack yard in Miami. On one side of her little hut/house was live train tracks and on the other, semi trucks and right in the middle sat her litter of puppies. Advocates removed her puppies in the midst of the severe cold snap Florida experienced as well as for safety concerns as they were starting to wander and faced fatal hazards and then went back for mom who was a bit more wise to navigate the hazards. The puppies went to other rescues and we opened our door to Ammy. She has been in our care for 4 months (not the streets) as we allowed her to decompress, ensuring her that her survival on the streets was over and learn what it was to feel safe and to simply be a dog. <br/><br/> Ammy has blossomed and is ready for her forever home. She is now housebroken, walks WONDERFUL on a leash, does phenomenal with other dogs and adores people. She has been to adoption events and is a rockstar. Ammy is also great with children and openly accepts head scratches and all of the love she never received prior to her rescue. Please consider sharing her post to help her find her forever home.
