Amira's Story

Affectionately known as “Winnie the Pooh Bear” by the neighborhood kids, Amira is a squishy, lovable 2-year-old bulldog (40 lbs) with a heart as big as her soulful eyes.

This cuddle enthusiast and professional kiss-giver is happiest when she’s soaking up attention. Whether you’re watching TV, working from home, or curled up under a blanket, Amira’s dream job is to supervise all the snuggles.

Playful and silly when it’s time for fun, but calm and polite when it counts, she charms everyone she meets. She especially loves playing with other dogs—big dogs are her favorite since she sometimes likes to play rough. She's also lived with cats!

Amira would be happiest in a home with teens or older kids, since she can be a little timid around the fast energy of younger children.

She’s blossomed into a confident walker, enjoying daily strolls and new adventures. She’s also making steady progress with house training (not yet 100%), and with a little continued patience she’ll perfect her skills in no time.

Like many bulldogs, Amira has sensitive skin and those adorable wrinkles will need ongoing care, especially during allergy season. She’ll need a family willing to keep her comfortable and healthy with a little extra TLC.

If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly, slightly goofy best friend who will fill your home with love, Amira might just be the missing puzzle piece in your family.
