AMIGO's Story

MEET AMIGO, OUR VERSION OF JOE COOL

Amigo is a Beagle with what we think is a hint of Dachshund. He is a compact little gentleman of about seven years or maybe younger who moves through the world with quiet confidence. He arrived with an easy charm that makes you feel as if you have known him forever. He is sweet, friendly, and deeply affectionate, the kind of dog who will tuck himself beside you at night and stay there until morning.

He enjoys his kibble but never rushes his meals and has shown no food issues at all. What he loves most is his person. Belly rubs are a close second. He follows with calm attention, watches for cues, and comes along whenever you move. When he is outside he explores at a relaxed pace, nose working, posture loose and cool. He is not a Houdini type and shows normal dog behavior. Sniff, stroll, check in, repeat.

So far, he has been wonderfully adaptable in the foster household and seems happiest in a quieter environment where he can settle in and bond, content to lounge or nap and always ready to climb into your lap. He can live with a dog friendly cat and well behaved dogs of any size.

He rides well in the car, walks politely on leash without tugging, and handles cold or snow without hesitation. He is low maintenance to groom and stays clean with a simple wipe of his paws. He gives a warning when he needs to go out by putting his paws on your lap.

Amigo weighs 18 lbs. is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and in excellent health. He is ready for a family who will let him curl up beside them and let him love them with his whole little heart. If kids 12+. Although Amigo is not a huge barker, we prefer that he lands in a house as he’s a Beagle mix after all. Amigo needs a fenced yard. Pools must be fenced separately.

Fill out an application for the AMIGO at: https://gerdysrescue.org/adoption-form/
NO DIRECT MESSAGE INQUIRIES PLEASE
Please note we only adopt to Montreal and nearby surrounding areas.
