Amber's Story
Amber’s story started the way too many good dogs’ stories do — alone, painfully thin, and trying to survive on the streets. But even after being neglected and overlooked, this sweet hound girl still chose love. And honestly? Her soulful eyes tell the whole story. One look from Amber and you’ll feel like she’s known you forever. Now that she’s safe in foster care, Amber is rediscovering how fun life can be. Her greatest passion? Sticks. Big sticks. Tiny sticks. Decorative sticks. Her second favorite thing? Blocks of wood. If your backyard looks like a tiny lumber yard, Amber says, “Perfect.”

She’s smart, playful, and independent during the day. Amber is crate trained (though she occasionally likes to remind us she has opinions about bedtime arrangements), and she’s settling into home life more and more every day. Amber is 3 years old, a healthy 70 pounds, and fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. House training may still need a little consistency and patience as she adjusts to an indoor princess. Amber would likely do best in a home with another playful dog buddy to help burn some energy and have a companion. Because she’s a strong girl who sometimes forgets her size, a home without small children would probably be best. She is dog friendly, cat friendly, but we do not yet know about kids younger than teenagers yet. Adoption events are scary for her so we are still learning about her comfort level. She’s very confident at home and definitely is more about the suburb and country life than the hustle of the city. Most of all, Amber deserves someone who sees beyond where she came from and recognizes the loving, goofy, loyal dog she truly is. She’s more than ready for her happily ever after!

** All of our Wigglers are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, HW tested/treated, and on preventatives. Most of our adoptable dogs need fenced in yards or an exercise regimen. We require proof spanning 2 consistent years of HW preventatives for already owned pets, UTD on shots, and spay/neuter in order to adopt. Please read their description above closely. Our adoption fee is $400. For an application to adopt visit our website at https://www.wagsandwigglesdogrescue.org/adopt-application .**
