Amber's Story

Amber is a soul dog looking for her soul person. More than anything, Amber craves affection and connection. She is that dog that will cuddle up with you on the bed, the couch or in the smallest of spaces. If you let her, she will be that dog that will be in your heart forever.

Amber is about 3 years old. She came to us from a rather desperate situation, having been housed outside in the hot sun in a dog run for most of her life. She was severely underweight and beginning to get heat sores and lose fur. Despite that, she has turned out to be pretty healthy, with clean 4DX, Valley Fever and fecal tests. In just a few weeks, she has gained a few pounds, her sores are gone and her fur is sleek and shiny.

We renamed her Amber (previously Hazel) because of her glorious amber-golden eyes.

Amber walks nicely on the leash and understands “watch me,” “sit” and “gentle” commands. She is very food-oriented and quick to learn. She is good in the crate when you have to leave her for a while alone in the house.. We recommend that she be the only dog in the household.

She LOVES kids of all ages.

That said, we can’t emphasize enough how lovable this dog is, how worth the effort she is, and how quickly she will capture your heart if given the chance.
