Amaya's Story
Meet Amaya, a little night-rain girl with a personality that shines bright! Named for the beautiful Spanish meaning night rain, Amaya is a confident, curious pup who is always ready to investigate her surroundings. About 2 months old, she's a calm walker for such a young girl, though she may occasionally look to her person for a little reassurance. Around other dogs, she's confident and interested—especially when meeting dogs bigger than herself—and she's absolutely fantastic with cats! When it comes to her manners, Amaya is learning quickly and already knows No. She's also an appropriate barker, saving her voice for very important announcements like alarms, timers, and beepers.

Like any young superhero in training, Amaya is still mastering a few skills. Maybe getting to 60 lbs. when full grown, potty training is a work in progress and will require patience, and she's currently in that adorable-but-mouthy puppy stage where everything—including shoes, grass, and mulch—looks like a perfectly good chew toy. Luckily, she's easily redirected to something more appropriate and absolutely loves her chew toys! She settles into her crate after a few minutes and sleeps there at night, while during the day she's happy to snooze wherever she pleases. She has no resource-guarding issues, loves her three daily meals, and would probably tell you she is never too full for another snack. With her confident spirit, curious mind, and sweet nature, Amaya is ready to spread her little wings and find the forever home where she can continue growing into her very own superhero.

Interested in meeting this dog?
Visit our website (https://www.sccrescue.org/) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs.
