Alvin's Story

We are excited to share that 5-month old Alvin will be ready for adoption in mid November. He will be neutered at 6 months old, and once he’s healed, he’ll be looking for his forever home.

Alvin is playful, curious, and full of puppy energy. He loves zoomies, burrowing under blankets, playing with his foster brothers, going to the dog park, and staying close to his people. He’s making good progress with potty training and eating in his crate, but like any young pup, he will need patience, consistency, and gentle guidance. He’ll do best in a home that understands the special needs of this breed: delicate bones, a sensitive nature, and a love for comfort. Alvin is not as delicate as most Italian Greyhounds so he will most likely be on the big side when fully grown.

Adoption requirements for Alvin:
· No large dogs in the household. Small- or medium-sized dogs are acceptable. Another playful dog, preferably an Italian Greyhound, fairly close to Alvin’s age, is a must.
· Preference for adopters with prior Italian Greyhound experience.
· Alvin should not be left alone for long hours. He will do best with someone home much of the day or with reliable care arrangements.
· Homes must not have open stair railings, apartment balconies, or other fall hazards.
· A secure, fully fenced yard is required for off-leash play (no invisible or electronic fencing).
