He has Pannus AKA Chronic Superficial Keratitis affecting the cornea. If untreated can lead to blindness. It is a lifelong condition and can be managed. It is common in areas with high altitudes, heavy air pollution or intense UV light exposure, it is thought to be linked to immune system reactions to irritants like UV rays. It is most often seen in German Shepherds and their mixes, but can affect other breeds.

Alvin is now on eye drops and will be for the rest of his life. He will need an adopter that will make sure he gets those as prescribed. He will also need Periodic eye exams as determined by your vet.

Alvin has some cool UV googles on order in order to lower his exposure to UV light (Sun).

Because of his eyes Alvin is now listed as special needs

Alvin is neutered, current on vaccinations (DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella) and microchip.

If you would like to foster Alvin until we can find a home for him we will supply food and supplies if needed.

Interested in adopting or fostering Alvin please fill out an application.

https://missmaggiemays.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21571548
