Aluma's Story

Meet Aluma, an eager, intelligent lab/border collie mix from the "boat litter" who is ready to anchor herself right into your heart!
Aluma is a bright, high-engagement pup with classic border collie focus and lab enthusiasm. She loves playing with other dogs and adores kids, though she'd do best in a home with older children-her puppy instincts mean she can get a bit "land-sharkey" and bitey when she gets excited!
Aluma's Highlights:
House & Crate Trained: Doing fantastic with both when kept on a consistent routine! She handles crate time like a champ.
Dog & Kid Friendly: Thrives in a social household, though her mouthy puppy play style is best suited for older kids.
Water & Adventure Lover: True to her lab roots, she has a passion for water play and outdoor fun.
Smart & Driven: Her border collie brain means she is quick to learn, highly motivated, and would excel in puppy classes or future dog sports (agility, dock diving, or obedience!). She has a fairly solid recall and knows how to sit for a treat!
What She's Working On:
Aluma is still mastering the art of "thinking mode" before "doing mode." She needs a handler who will provide ongoing structure, routine, and positive impulse-control training to help her manage her excitement and make smart choices.
If you are looking for an active, loyal, and driven companion ready to learn, train, and play, Aluma is ready to meet you!

A puppy adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
