Alonna's Story

Alonna is a stunning three-year-old black and rust female with a soft, beautiful coat and charming natural ears. While she can be a bit more anxious than your average Doberman, she is a sweetheart. She is a social butterfly when meeting new dogs, though she prefers to be the one in charge. She would do best with a submissive male of a comparable size and age. Because she is a typical sensitive female, she responds best to gentle guidance and clear communication. Alonna is quite the clever girl, she is eager to learn and would thrive in a beginning obedience class to help build her confidence.
In the home, Alonna is a well-behaved houseguest who is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate through the night. She is even a fan of road trips and rides nicely in the car. She could live with dog-savvy cats, but she does require a home with a fenced yard since her recall is still a work in progress. Potential adopters should keep a watchful eye on their laundry, as she has a habit of picking up shoes or "borrowing" clothing that smells like her favorite people to chew on. To keep her healthy and happy, she’ll need a slow feeder bowl to help her pace herself during mealtime. This smart, sensitive girl is truly a "good girl" who just needs a patient family to help her reach her full potential. Alonna would do best in a home with older children or an adult only home.

Interested in Alonna? Visit HMDD.org to fill out your application today.
