VIP: Almond is a friendly boy! He is very cute and is about 13 months of age. He recently went on a group dog walk to a local park along with other dogs from the shelter and was happy to come out for his first Pups in the Park walk! The volunteers said that he is a wonderful Pups Walker! Almond was great while being harnessed and even got his own sweater! He did very well getting into the car on his own. Almonds car ride attitude ranges from "excited to go!!" to "I'm taking a nap." He was very observant on the walk, taking in all the sights and sounds of the park. Almond got along well with all the dogs in the group. He does understand sit command and was very polite during his water break while waiting for his bowl to be filled. Almond is a very affectionate dog and we just love his floppy ears! He was never claimed by his owner and wants his forever home! <br/>Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. <br/>Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment or application is needed. Plano Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are first come first serve. There is no application. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place. The criteria must also be met in order to visit with an animal.
