This precious 5-year-old female Maltese is finally getting her chance at a real life after spending her first five years as a mother on a Wisconsin breeding farm. Now that her breeding days are behind her, Almeria is ready to retire into a cozy forever home where she will be cherished as a family member, not a number.

True to her background, Almeria is incredibly gentle and sweet-natured. Because everything about living inside a normal house is brand new to her—from the sound of a television to the feeling of plush carpet under her paws—she is initially quite shy and timid. She is looking for a patient adopter who will let her decompress at her own pace and teach her what it means to be a pampered pet.

Almeria loves other dogs and she would benefit from a mentor dog and playmate. She is not leash trained.

Before applying, we strongly encourage you to read our Breeder Release article on our Resources page. It provides valuable information about the unique challenges and rewards of welcoming a breeder-release dog into your home and will help you understand what to expect as Almeria continues her journey.

ADOPTION FEE: $650

To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION at fluffydog.net

Adopters must be 24 years of age.
