Alma's Story
Alma is around 4 years old. She was pulled from a high kill shelter after she was surrendered as part of humane case. Poor Alma lived outside in a dirt pen with some other dogs. Not being spayed, she ended up having a litter of 12 puppies who all died from being born in a muddy, cold pen. Alma deserved the best life after her mistreatment, so MBR stepped in to help.

Alma is a goofy girl who loves to play. She romps and runs with her much smaller foster fur sibling, and likes to play with humans, too. Alma is doing great with learning manners. She is potty trained, though her forever home will need to initially reinforce where and how to ask to go outside. She is also crate trained, and keeps her crate clean when in it. Alma loves food and treats, and is very eager to learn whatever she is taught. She already knows sit and paw, and is working on stay. Alma has been with the rescue since October 21, so she's had plenty of time to practice being part of her foster family and is ready for her own, furever family.

Unfortunately, when we took Alma to her first vet visit, we discovered she was heartworm positive. Her last two injections are in the middle of January, and we are very hopeful that she will be cleared of medical issues after that. This sweet, playful girl deserves so much better than the mud heap that she came from. She will be available for foster to adopt (where MBR continues to pay for the medical care she needs) until we confirm she's cleared of heartworms; at which time she can be adopted officially. If you think you could give Alma the amazing life she deserves, submit your application today!

All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Age: 4 years

Adoption fee: $300
