Alligator's Story
How this pet arrived: Alligator was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on March 19, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Alligator, a sweet and friendly dog with a looking to settle in a loving home where he can soak up all the attention as the only canine resident. Despite his initial shyness and fear of strangers, Alligator quickly transforms into a trusting, mellow, and cuddly companion once he determines you're trustworthy. Spend a little time with him and you'll see his loyalty and love shines through -- he relaxes, his eyes soften and he becomes happy and comfortable with his new friend! While at the shelter, Alligator has been on several all-day outings with volunteers and received rave reviews, showing little apprehension toward strangers. Seeing other dogs at a distance, Alligator showed little interest. Visiting a home, he rolled on the carpet grinning ear-to-ear, enjoying domestic bliss, stopping only to receive pets and a belly rub! His sweet and loving nature makes him a perfect companion at home and outside on leash exploring the world! Adopting Alligator means gaining a friend who is ready to roll -- preferably on your carpet -- and who will cherish every moment of your company. Alligator will thrive best as the only dog and with children 6 and older. If he sounds like the right pup for you, talk to our adoptions team today! At SDHS:Alligator has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 44.4lbs Age: 5yrs 10mths 1wks Animal has been Neutered
