Alistair $425's Story
Say hey to Alistair, a sweet, soulful 3-4 year old Mastiff mix weighing about 80
pounds who is absolutely convinced he's a 15-pound lap dog. If you sit on the floor,
the couch, or even the edge of the bed, Alistair will melt onto you for cuddles - often
placing his head (or entire body) on your lap for maximum snuggle potential. He's a
world-class cuddler and fully committed to being as close to his people as possible.

Alistair enjoys running around the yard and playing, but is just as happy curling up
inside for a long nap. At night, he typically sleeps at the foot of the bed... until
morning, when he'll gently wander up and flop against your side to start cuddle time
for the day.

He does best in a home with kids 12+, especially those who are calm, respectful,
and give him space when needed. Alistair is incredibly people-loving - when new
people visit, he may let out a brief low bark or two, but he quickly warms up and
eagerly seeks out pets and affection. He truly adores his humans.

Social Skills & Training
* Alistair does well with dogs about his size and is very respectful when other dogs
aren't interested in play.
* Dog-friendly & flexible. He would love a home with another dog to keep him
company and be his playmate, but he would also be perfectly happy as the only
dog, soaking up all the love and attention for himself.
* Alistair walks nicely on a leash most of the time, but can pull when excited. He is
strong but manageable with guidance and consistency.
* Alistair is very food-motivated, learns quickly, and genuinely wants to be "the
best boy".
* He's currently working on keeping all four paws on the floor when excited - he
jumps out of enthusiasm, not aggression.
* He responds well when corrected and settles quickly.
* He takes treats nicely and is learning better toy manners (especially with balls and
hands at the same time).

Home Life & Personality
* Good in his kennel, but prefers to relax outside of it
* Has had no accidents and goes to the door when he needs to go outside
* Loves toys
* He likely had access to table scraps in the past, as he monitors closely what his
humans are eating.
* Enjoys being near his people at all times
* May be occasionally startled by sudden noises or visual changes (like hoods pulled
low over faces or loud street equipment). He will need patience and reassurance as he continues to settle into new environments.

The Perfect Home for Alistair
Alistair would thrive with a patient, loving family who will
* Continue his training and reinforce good manners
* use positive reinforcement (treats are his love language)
* Be understanding as he gains confidence in his new home
* Give him plenty of affection - because he will absolutely give it right back, tenfold.

If you're looking for a playful adventure buddy who turns into a loving, snuggly
couch potato at home, Alistair may be your perfect match.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application.
