Alison (Ali)'s Story

Ali is a shy but incredibly sweet girl who’s had a rough start in life, and she’s ready for a fresh beginning with a patient, loving family. Beneath her nervous exterior is a tender heart that wants nothing more than to feel safe and understood.

Ali is still working on her house training and crate training, and she’s making steady progress with the help of supportive humans. She’ll thrive in a home that can offer consistency, encouragement, and lots of gentle praise as she continues to build her confidence.
With slow and proper introductions, Ali gets along well with other dogs. A calm, dog-savvy companion could even help her feel more secure as she learns that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

Ali isn’t the kind of dog who will rush into your arms on day one—but for the family willing to earn her trust, she’ll offer the quiet, heartfelt loyalty that only a once-frightened dog can give. She’s looking for a forever home that sees her potential, celebrates her small victories, and helps her grow into the brave, happy pup she’s meant to be.

If you have a soft spot for the shy ones and believe in second chances, Ali may be the perfect match. Come meet this gentle soul and show her what it feels like to have a home of her own.

It Takes A Village Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Hopeful adopters must fill out an adoption application. All applications are screened and potential matches are contacted. Follow up questions are emailed. A phone call is set up to clarify any questions about the adoption process. At that point the fosters are provided the contact information for the potential adopters. They set up a meet and greet at the fosters home. During the meet the foster will tell the potential adopter the good, the bad. and the ugly about the dog... we want total transparency in order to have an open and successful adoption. After the meet we ask the fosters and the adopters their thoughts. If the adopter would like to proceed, their references are checked and a virtual home visit is conducted. If the adoptable dog has any sort of behavioural or medical issues a plan to address the issue would be required before adoption could proceed. If all is good then the adoption contract is sent out to be signed and returned along with the adoption fee. The foster is given the green light to arrange pick up.
