Alice Coop's Story

Alice Coop A187560
35 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old

-A little timid to start, but it didn't take long for her personality to start shining through. We quickly learned that she absolutely LOVES food! She knows "sit" and takes treats nicely.

-At first, she would submissively crawl over for attention, but that didn't last long. The more comfortable she became, the more of a playful puppy I got to see. Before long, she was bouncing around, running circles around me, and showing off her very wiggly personality.

-She isn't quite sure what to do with toys yet, but she seems very receptive to play and I think she just needs someone to show her how much fun they can be. She also loves flopping over for belly rubs and happily gives kisses.

-She's definitely an active, playful girl, but she seems to have a really nice foundation of manners. She walks pretty well with minimal pulling and is affectionate and eager to interact with her person.

-Give her a little time to warm up, and you'll get to see the silly, wiggly, playful puppy hiding underneath that initial shyness.

-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30

**We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog.

**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
