Welcome Ali! Don’t worry, even though Ali is a 6 month old lab mix puppy, she doesn’t actually get into too much trouble. She currently weighs ~35 pounds, and should top out around 40-45 pounds once full grown!

Ali is potty trained! She lets Foster Dad know when she has to go by sitting patiently at the door, showing off her good manners. Ali is also crate trained, but does need a little extra encouragement to go into the crate - a treat usually does the trick. Once inside she may whine for a little while - just long enough for her to tell you that she’s gunna miss you. She quiets down soon after, once the initial Foster-Parent-departure is over.

Ali loves other dogs! She may be a bit shy at first, but she quickly opens up. Once she opens up, she is playful as can be. She would be a great dog-park-dog, as Ali has never met a dog she didn’t like. As far as other human-buddies go, there is no initial shyness there! She loves to meet new people, and loves being around her people. Ali isn’t needy in her attempts to get human-cuddles and scratches, but definitely loves getting attention! She understands if you’re busy though, and will entertain herself with some of her toys.

Ali’s favorite way of entertaining herself is by throwing her toys in the air and chasing after them! Since she is a puppy, she may mistake your shoe for one of her toys - but Ali is quickly learning what is and isn’t an appropriate toy. Ali loves to go on walks and have play sessions, and is typically content to nap for a while after those. Ali would do well with a family willing to play with her through her energy spurts, and work with her as she continues to learn the rules of the world as she transitions from Puppy 101 to Doggy Adolescence 201.

To ensure our dogs are placed in a safe environment, we require a home visit for all adoptions. Because of this, we typically only adopt to homes within 30 minutes of Athens, GA. If you are further away than that and are interested in one of our pups, please still fill out an application and we can discuss your options.
