Alfie's Story

Alfie is a one year-old bundle of zoomies with a heart as big as his energy level. This happy-go-lucky puppy is always on the move and always looking for his next adventurepreferably one that involves sniffing everything, wrestling (human or canine, he's not picky), or playing a very competitive game of keep-away.

On his way towards being the goodest boy, Alfie is also still very much a puppy. He's learning his manners and how to channel his adorable energy, though he'll need patient adopters who understand that there's still plenty of learning ahead. He is crate trained and potty trained, though his new family can expect an accident now and again, especially in new places.

He's a lovable goof specializing in affection and devotion, is deeply attached to his people, and absolutely loves to snuggle once he's burned off some steam. He's incredibly friendly and adores other dogs. Because of his high energy and social nature, Alfie would thrive with active adopters, ideally in a home with another young, playful dog who can help tire him out and show him the ropes of being a good canine citizen. He really needs a fenced-in yard so he can have regular off-leash time, as well as a large stock of chew toys and treats. If you're looking for a goofy, loving, energetic puppy who will keep you laughing, moving, and never feeling lonely, Alfie might just be your perfect match.
If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website at arporescue.org to learn more about our adoption process and complete our adoption application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.

Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership, Inc - ARPO's Adoption Policy
ARPO does not have a shelter or physical location. All pets are in foster care. Potential adopters must fill out the Adoption Application. An phone or e-mail interview and home visit are required and does not guarantee adoption. We use these as a tool to make a match for both the adoptive family and the pet. Because home visits are done by a member of our all volunteer staff, we limit this to a 50 mile radius of Indianapolis. Lastly, before taking your new companion, a contract must be signed, including the provision that the adopter will provide quality food, shelter, and medical care. You may follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/adoptarpo/ to find out when and where our next adoption events, fundraisers, success stories, as well as hints and tips in pet care.
