Alfie's Story
Meet Alfie! Our little 12-pound bundle of fun!

Alfie is a 2-year-old boy who is officially getting ready to find his forever home! He’s been neutered and had his dental done, so he’s ready for his next chapter.

Playtime is Alfie’s love language! His favorite thing in the world is playing with his foster sister, DeDe. And when I say play, I mean LOUD, wild, full-contact Italian Greyhound play! Sometimes I think they’re going to kill each other, but it’s all in good fun. Because of this, Alfie must have another younger IG in the home who enjoys that kind of rough-and-tumble play. He needs a buddy who can keep up with him!

His ideal home: Alfie needs a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and burn off all that energy. He would also love a home where someone is around most of the day. He loves having people home with him, so a home where his humans work away from home full-time would not be the best fit.

Alfie’s biggest challenge is the big, scary world. He is extremely shy and scared of new things, new people, and new experiences. He’ll need a patient, understanding family willing to let him build confidence at his own pace. The good news, when it comes to other dogs, Alfie is very social and gets along with dogs both bigger and smaller than he is!

Alfie may need some time to warm up, but with the right home, a playful IG sibling, and lots of patience and love, we know he has so much potential to blossom.

Fostered in Mount Airy, Maryland

If you have a younger IG looking for a playmate and a home where Alfie won’t have to spend his days alone, he just might be your guy!
