ALEIGHA's Story

Meet Aleigha, sunshine in dog form! A volunteer recently took this adorable brindle girl on a Fido Field Trip and came back absolutely smitten. According to them, Aleigha approached the entire day with one mission: have as much fun as possible. They went for a walk (which quickly became a serious scent investigation), practiced tricks for pieces of baguette, enjoyed a Dairy Queen pup cone, and made lots of new friends along the way. Back at the volunteer's home, Aleigha revealed her true passion in life: squeaky toys. She sprinted around the living room squeaking, pouncing, and launching herself onto the couch until the toy finally gave up and stopped squeaking forever. After a full day of adventures, toys, bread, and ice cream, she curled up in the backseat and fell asleep on the ride back to the shelter. After a full day of adventures, toys, bread, and ice cream, Aleigha curled up in the backseat and fell asleep on the ride back to the shelter. What we learned about Aleigha: • Friendly with everyone she met • Food motivated and eager to learn • Knows some basic commands and takes treats gently • Loves toys and playtime • Would benefit from continued training on impulse control and managing excitement when she's having fun She's athletic, goofy, affectionate, and just a littttttle chaotic, and we wouldn't have her any other way. Stop by during adoption hours to meet her! Weekdays 1-5:30pm | Saturday 11am-2:30pm
