G'Day ! I am Alaska and I am from the Land Down Under! I am 3 Year 8 month old Red Fawn female coming in at about 61 lbs. I will arrive from Australia on August 29th of 2026.<br/>They say, I am a firecracker! Because I love my toys, especially the squeaky ones! I destroy them!! But this can be used to get me to recall for training, since I love them and pay attention to them. I am very easy stimulated, and run around you and spin around ( zoomies ). I am a confident girl, but also a bit clumsy. I love squeaky toys so much, they had to be removed when I got tired, because I will not stop playing with them. I need a harness, because I am an escape artist out of my collar , especially when another dog comes around and I am on lead. I will walk backwards and lunge to greet them. I am just so excited !! GREYHEART Greyhound Rescue & Adoption of Michigan's Adoption Policy
GreyHeart conducts in home visits with all our applicants, therefore, our Service Area is generally limited to a 1 hr round trip from the metro Detroit Area. In the interest of the retired greyhounds we place, part of the foster application procedure includes an application interview. The purpose of this interview is to be sure the new fosters are prepared to accept the moral, physical and minor financial responsibilities involved in fostering a greyhound through GreyHeart. Due to the greyhound's calm nature and their need for a quiet environment, we generally don't place them in homes with children under the age of 6. Past experiences have shown us that adding a greyhound to that scenario has a very low chance of success. You may inquire about dogs here , but we do not adopt dogs out with just an inquiry from Petfinder, please go to our Website : greyheart.org and fill out an application !!
