When she's comfortable she walks wonderfully, although, she's still scared of a lot of things and will bolt. Should be double-leashed.

Energy level: Medium level of energy. She loves to run and play but also likes to just lay in her crate, or her brother's crates, or the living room floor and hang out.

Need a fenced in yard: Yes, absolutely. She is a flight risk still after two years of fostering.

Dog Friendly: Definitely.

She lives with 6 other dogs in her foster home. 3 Aussies, 1 Lab/Heeler mix, 1 Great Dane, and 1 Cane Corso/Dane. She gets along well with all of them and is not scared to be sassy with the 150-lb Dane.

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? I don't think it's necessary, although she does seem to enjoy the company of another pup.

Cat friendly: Unknown

Kid Friendly: Unknown.

If Yes, What is the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 12+ yrs

Special Traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Alanis, although we've been calling her Maple for the last two years, is a sweet, roughly six year-old mini Australian Shepherd who has been with us as a foster for almost two years now. She came to me as a former mill mama who seemed to never have had any positive interactions with people. Because of that she's very timid around people and takes time to warm up, but her gentle nature shines through once she feels safe. She now comes when she's called and she'll come over and let us give her pets on the head. She is still very scared when someone picks her up and will often piddle and poo out of fear if you pick her up. That said, she's been to the vet and has done well with a patient veterinarian, she's been groomed and bathed several times, and has done okay there as well. She will thrive in a calm environment and would do best with a patient family who understands her need for reassurance and space. Despite her shyness, she's well-behaved and has so much love to give to the right home.

Fosters location: Wilmington, DE

Application can be found here http://www.grrde.org/adoption-application ( if you already have an approved application on file email grassrootsde@gmail.com and ask the App team to pull your app.
