Akela's Story

Meet Akela, a sweet, big-hearted goofball! This boy is already a giant and still putting on some pounds—so get ready for a handsome, 100-pound lap dog (whether he officially fits or not!). He’s strong, playful, and has a personality as big as his paws, complete with plenty of endearing drool when he’s happy or expecting a yummy snack.

Speaking of snacks: Akela is very treat-motivated! He likes to forage in the grass for hidden treats, which turns outdoor time into a fun, mental enrichment game. His love for food makes him a quick study for training, which is great because he’s still learning a few boundary manners and how to channel his friendly energy politely.

Akela would thrive with a family that enjoys continuing his training, appreciates a lovable giant, and doesn't mind a little slobber with their daily snuggles. If you're looking for a goofy, loyal companion to fill your heart (and your couch), Akela is ready to meet you!

If you are interested in Akela, check out our adoption process at https://cnyspca.org/adoption-process/.

Apply to adopt today!

The adoption fee covers the following:

Vet Exam
Microchipping
Rabies Vaccine (12 weeks+)
Spay / Neuter
Heartworm testing (6 months and up)
Kennel Cough Vaccine
DAPPV Vaccine
Flea preventative
Deworming
Adoption Kit
