AJ Boxer & American Bulldog Mix Fremont, CA

AJ is a six-year-old boxer/American bulldog mix that weighs 70 pounds. The previous owner took him to the shelter for euthanasia because he was in such poor condition due to neglect and abuse. The shelter contacted us to see if we could save him and we immediately drove to Solano and picked him up. After several months of being in foster care his wounds have healed up, he has gained 12 pounds and he is one happy boy!

AJ hops into the bathtub without any hesitation for his baths every week. He is crate trained and kennels up the minute you open the door. He loves to go for car rides and if I go to work and don’t take him he is completely confused! AJ is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever met, he thinks he is 10 pounds and belongs in your lap! He loves going for walks and behaves beautifully on the leash.

AJ does not bark or react to other dogs but we know that he is not good with other dogs. His new home must understand that he needs to be an only dog and he will never be able to go to a dog park.

We ran a full allergy panel on him to see what he might be allergic to and he is allergic to four types of grass. As his foster parents we are fortunate that we don’t have any grass, we have artificial lawn As well as bark and lots of patio areas.

If he goes to a home that is interested in having the allergy shots made for him so that he builds up a tolerance to the grasses he is allergic to that is certainly an option.
