Aisha's Story

Meet Aisha! This six year old 6lb poodle x was surrendered by a breeder in Texas. Aisha is a sweet and gentle soul, she's learning to be brave with the help of her foster carer. She's a true companion dog who just wants to be near her person. She can't wait to meet you! Her foster says: "Aisha is a petite 6-year-old sweetheart who has quickly learned to enjoy the simple comforts of city life. At just 6 pounds, she’s the perfect little companion — a true “purse dog” who loves being close to her human and happily rides along in a bag without any fuss. She’s comfortable riding the train, strolling through busy streets as long as shes being held, and exploring new environments with her person. When she’s next to you, she’s quiet and calm. Aisha sleeps well in her crate. She’s used to being handled for grooming and will allow you to trim, fluff without a struggle. She gets along wonderfully with both cats, dogs, and children. She's great with pee pads and is working on feeling comfortable going outdoors. She’s also just beginning to understand leash walking, but is already getting much better with gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. Aisha is a tender, loving little girl who bonds closely with her human. She’s looking for someone who can give her stability, routine, and lots of affection as she continues building confidence in the big city she’s already beginning to love. True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
