Meet Hazel the dog everyone overlooks... and the one someone is about to be incredibly lucky to find. At around 5/6 years old, Hazel has already lived a lifetime of giving.<br/>Often wandering loose for days at the trailer park she came from. She spent years having litter after litter, surviving instead of being someones beloved pet.<br/> incredibly loving and affectionate<br/> wonderful with children<br/> fully housetrained<br/> perfectly content being home while youre at work<br/> happiest lounging, exploring the yard, and soaking up attention<br/><br/>Hazel is not a project.<br/>She is not a fixer-upper.<br/>She is a good dog who just needs the right lifestyle and in return, she will give you everything. Hazel is not a take me to a busy patio "farmers market" kind of dog.<br/>Hazels dream life?<br/> a large fenced yard or property<br/> a calm, homebody lifestyle<br/> a family who values companionship over chaos<br/>Shes a let's play around a bit and then lets sit on the couch, watch the world go by, and just be together kind of dog.<br/><br/>Lets talk about the one thing people get stuck on leash reactivity. She has done well meeting dogs off-leash in the right setting its the leash that creates pressure, not who she is. Hazel isnt aggressive. Not even close.<br/>She simply gets overwhelmed on leash something very common in Shepherd-type dogs. But heres the truth:<br/>Hazel doesnt want or need busy walks, crowded trails, or chaotic environments.<br/><br/>MYTH vs REALITY: Leash Reactive Dogs<br/><br/>MYTH:<br/>If a dog is leash reactive, theyre aggressive.<br/>REALITY:<br/>Most leash reactive dogs are not aggressive at all.<br/>Theyre overwhelmed, frustrated, or unsure especially when they feel trapped on a leash.<br/><br/>MYTH:<br/>They cant be around other dogs.<br/>REALITY:<br/>Many leash reactive dogs actually do well with other dogs in the right environment.<br/>Hazel has successfully interacted with calm, confident dogs off-leash its the leash that creates the tension, not who she is.<br/><br/>MYTH:<br/>They need constant training to be fixed.<br/>REALITY:<br/>Training can help, yes but so can management and the right lifestyle.<br/>Not every dog needs to walk busy streets or crowded trails to live a full, happy life. We would like to add that if you want to give her a little adventure and not worry about stress and other dogs, Sniffspots exist( all over the Island and everywhere (check out the Sniffspot App safe, private spaces where dogs can explore freely without the stress.)
