Adkins's Story

Hi! My name is Adkins! I am a handsome 1 year old white boxer boy that was once a stray in Dallas but have now become a stage 5 clinger that wants to be as close to humans in my foster home as possible! I am a deaf puppy with puppy tendencies but don't let that shy you away because with proper patience, training, and guidance, I have great potential! I am medium to high energy as would be expected with a puppy. I am house trained and crate trained! I do have some separation anxiety when it comes to being in the crate and will cry unless given lick mats or bones to occupy me. I would prefer a home that would allow me as much time as possible with the family and as little as possible in the crate. I am learning household manners but am a quick learner, so I am progressing well! Due to me not having the best manners yet and understanding proper boundaries and interaction with other dogs, slower intros or submissive dogs would be best suited as my playmates because I come full force ready to play with everyone! Although I am deaf, I am learning commands quickly and would do best with a family that has experience with that or will be consistent and continue teaching me the commands. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

If you're interested in fostering a dog, please fill out the Foster Application

https://austinboxerrescue.com/ways-to-help/foster/

If you're interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the Adoption Application

http://austinboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/

Our volunteers will work with you to find the best dog for your home.
