ADELE- Needs a foster/forever home!'s Story

Adele's estimated birth year: 2021

A sweet write-up about Adele from one of our volunteers who Adele adores:
This beautiful girl has come such a long way since giving birth to 14 rockstar puppies (yes, 14!), and she continues to amaze us. I asked her to get in the shower, and she just... did it. No treats, no bribes—just trust. She walks like a dream on a leash—until she spots a rabbit, then it's game on. Adele gets along wonderfully with our two MADR alums, Mama and Reggie, and has been a calm, respectful house guest, potty-trained, and has zero food aggression. Where she still needs some love and patience is with people. She's afraid of anyone she doesn't know and really only feels safe with her 'person.' Right now, that's Ashley at the shelter... and me. Maybe it's because I was with her when she birthed her pups. There's a saying: 'A woman who helps another give birth is a Goddess Mother.' So I guess that makes me her Goddess Mother. Adele is looking for a foster or adopter who can give her the time, patience, and safety she needs to continue blooming. She's loyal to the core—and once she's bonded to you, it's magic. If you or someone you know is Adele's person, please reach out.

Adeles Rescue Story:
Four-year-old Adele was heavily pregnant and wandering the streets alone. She limped along, navigating busy streets and dodging traffic. A kind-hearted person spotted her struggling and contacted us for help. Despite our shelter being at capacity, we couldn't turn away a dog in distress. We agreed to accept Adele's case.

The moment Adele was in our arms, we brought her to our vet. We discovered that this mama-to-be had Heartworm disease—a common condition that can turn deadly if left untreated, as the worms burrow into the heart and lungs. Adele has completed her heartworm treatment. She will require monthly Heartgard for the rest of her life.

Adele went to a temporary foster home so that she could give birth in a peaceful, comfortable place. Adele birthed 14 puppies; one was stillborn, and one passed away after entering the world, leaving her with 12 puppies.

Dog social. Unknown how she is with cats. May do well with kids 10 years old or older. Her forever home is required to have a totally enclosed fenced yard. Adele is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, on monthly heartworm preventative as well as house and crate-trained. Beautiful Adele cannot wait to find a forever family who will love and spoil her for the rest of her life!

All dogs we rescue stay with us until they find their forever homes. We do not do same-day adoptions. A home visit is required to ensure our dog is going to a safe environment and that our dog gets along with your dog(s) and/or cat(s). We require all our dogs over the age of 1 year to attend 1 obedience class (6-week session) outside the home. You must live within 1 hour of Birmingham, MI, to adopt one of our dogs. Adele's adoption fee is $300.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FOSTERING AND/ORADOPTING ADELE, APPLICATIONS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE AT OUR ADOPTION EVENTS OR AT WWW.MAKEADIFFERENCERESCUE.COM. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ADELE, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AND SEND US AN EMAIL.
