Adelaide's Story

Meet Adelaide, an adorable scruffy little 2-3 year old gal filled with love to give! She is timid at first, but when she feels safe will grow to love her people. Her foster reports that she is an absolute sweetheart, and loves to hang out with her person. She is very mellow, and will ease into cuddling as she gets to know you.

She tolerates other dogs or cats, but doesn't seem to want to play with them very much--and she would prefer her animal friends to have a lower energy level like herself. As far as children goes, she would probably do best with older children. Her ideal home would be calm and quiet to suit her mellow personality.

She is still working on housetraining. She is doing well with a dog door, but it's hit and miss with puppy pads. Will still need more training, but she is making good steps! She sleeps through the night in her crate happily, as long as she is in the same room as her person. She does like to hang out in an open crate, and makes a little home/refuge of it.

She did have a little separation anxiety at first, but after a few days, seems to trust that her person will come home, as she learns and settles into the routine. She can be a little bit of an escape artist, and could probably climb out of a playpen, but she likes just being freely in the house with her people.

Hearts 4 Paws's Adoption Policy
When you adopt from Hearts 4 Paws, you are rescuing a dog that would otherwise be homeless, abandoned, or even euthanized. By providing a home to an animal, in return, you receive love, companionship, and the responsibility to care for another life. Hearts 4 Paws rescues adoptable dogs from local shelters and temporarily places them in foster homes until a “forever home” is found. Before any adoptions occur, all potential adopters go through a carefully reviewed and considered application process.
