Meet Adam – Your Loyal Golden Companion<br/>Adam is an 8-year-old golden retriever with a heart full of love and a gentle, easygoing spirit. He’s happiest when he’s lounging next to his person—ideally on the couch—and would love nothing more than to be your shadow throughout the day.<br/><br/>He enjoys his daily walks and does best when wearing his gentle leader. While he can be a bit of a puller at times, he's learning to pace himself. True to his retriever nature, Adam loves to stop and sniff along the way, savoring the world around him.<br/><br/>Since arriving in his foster home, Adam has settled in beautifully. He was a bit barky at first—alerting to car doors and deliveries—but he’s mellowed out as he’s grown more comfortable. He currently lives with three children and is wonderfully gentle and well-mannered with them, taking treats softly and behaving respectfully.<br/><br/>Adam also shares his home with three other dogs and two cats. While he doesn’t enjoy the high-energy play of the youngest pup (he’s given a few warning growls), he gets along just fine with the more mature dogs and has even started to run around the yard with them. The cats? He couldn’t care less—they’re simply background characters in his world.<br/><br/>His previous owner said Adam loves tennis balls, and while his foster mom has only seen short bursts of play, he may become more active once fully recovered from his recent neuter surgery. He’s completely house-trained and enjoys leaving “pee-mail” for neighborhood dogs when he’s out in the yard.<br/><br/>Adam is an excellent car companion—calm, relaxed, and happy to tag along. He recently visited a coffee shop and impressed everyone with his calm demeanor, quietly watching people go by and even staying in a “down” while his foster mom went inside. He’d make a great buddy for outdoor dining, weekend adventures, or road trips.<br/><br/><br/>Adam’s Ideal Home:<br/>A calm, quiet household: Adam thrives in a peaceful environment where someone is home most of the day. He may whine or bark a little when left alone, but he settles down fairly quickly.<br/><br/>A mellow canine companion—or none at all: He’d prefer to be an only dog or live with another calm, older dog.
