**Meet Achilles! **<br/>This 1-year-old dynamo is as friendly as they come and full of happy energy! Achilles gets along great with other dogs and loves everyone he meets.<br/><br/>Smart and eager to please, he already knows his name, sit, down, stay, place, leave it, off, up (front paw on object), bump (greeting), heel (come sit to my left), and “with me” (walk closely on my left). What a smart man! With his sharp mind and desire to make his handler happy, Achilles is highly trainable and ready to keep learning.<br/><br/>He’s an active boy who thrives when given a job to do or an outlet for his energy—after that, he’s perfectly content to relax. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion who’s both athletic and affectionate, Achilles is your guy! <br/><br/><br/>From a volunteer after a day trip: <br/><br/>Achilles is awesome! His ability to read people and dogs is incredible. His best skill by far is his recall. He loves kids and is super gentle with them. We met an eight month old baby and he gently sniffed and then back up and watched from a distance his tail wagging the entire time. He does really well ignoring other dogs and a simple “say bye” is usually enough to get him back on track. He loves water (we went into a stream and he wanted to go back to it every time we passed it).<br/><br/><br/>Want to Adopt? 1) Fill out an application on theluckypuppy.org The adoption fees for puppies up to 12 months are a minimum donation of $650, (dogs too young to be fixed will have an extra $200 deposit, refundable pending your spay/neuter agreement), 1 year and up are a minimum donation of $550, 7+ years are a minimum $450 donation 2) Once your application is in, our adoption coordinator will contact you and complete a vet check and home visit (possibly electronic). 3) Once approved, please schedule a meet and greet to see the dogs. Meet and greets are by appointment only for approved adopters.<br/><br/>This pup is available in NY through the Go North Program of The Lucky Puppy Rescue, rescue based in Bonifay and Panama City, FL and adoption center in Argyle NY (NY Lic #1054). The minimum donation $650 adoption fee includes transportation from FL to NY, spay/neuter surgery or spay/neuter agreement (if too young), up to date with: age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention (if old enough) and martingale safety collar.
