Ace of Base's Story

Ace of Base A187667
29 lb. neutered male, approx 11 months old

-Young guy who is a little nervous and unsure at first and will need some patience and reassurance while he gets comfortable. He's still figuring out this whole walking on a leash thing and takes things slowly, but he's getting better. He can be a little clumsy and awkward in the cutest way.

-He can be unsure of how to interact at times, but you can tell he really wants affection. If you stop petting him, he'll slowly crawl closer to you for more. Once he starts feeling comfortable, you get to see some really fun and playful moments.

-He absolutely loves toys and shows a really sweet, playful side when he has them. He's also very treat motivated. He'll pounce on treats like they're toys before eating them, then takes them very gently from your hand. He occasionally spins in little circles, especially when you ask him to sit, although he hasn't quite mastered the sitting part yet. 😆

-He is extremely sweet, timid, and endearing, with excellent manners. He just needs someone willing to give him a little time and help him build his confidence. I think there is a really special, playful little guy underneath those initial nerves.

-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be!

-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30

**We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog.

**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
