Ace's Story
Ace needs OUT of the kennel and INTO a real life

Yall, this is Ace a 7-month-old Red Nose Pitbull with a big ol heart, a strong little body, and enough personality to keep somebody laughing every single day.

Ace is still young. He is still learning. He is still growing into himself. But one thing is already clear: this boy was not made to spend his puppy months behind kennel bars.

Ace came to us as an owner surrender after an incident involving a neighbors male dog. His previous family loved him very much and even wrote a letter about the real Ace so people would know he is more than just another dog sitting in a shelter.

And the real Ace? He sounds like a whole character.

Ace is smart, goofy, playful, and full of life. His family said he loved playing in the snow and would drag his sled up the hill just so he could slide back down by himself. He loves bubbles, tries to catch flying bugs, plays fetch, and when he gets excited, he slaps back with his paws like hes playing tag.

He has been raised around kids ages 7 to 18 and did wonderful with them. He may bark at something silly like a trash can, but with people, he is a lover. His family described him as a happy, silly, affectionate pup who just wants love and attention.

Ace is also potty trained, knows sit, stay, and come, loves fetch, and is very treat motivated. That is a big deal for a young dog because it means he is ready to keep learning with someone willing to put in the time.

Now here is the part we need folks to really read:

Ace needs to be the ONLY dog in the home.

His previous family said he had issues with male dogs, and because of that, we are looking for a safe, responsible home with no other dogs. Ace is not a dog park dog. He is not a lets just see how he does with mine dog. He needs a home where he does not have to share his space, toys, food, yard, or people with another dog.

Ace also has a high prey drive, so he cannot go to a home with cats or small animals. No cats, no small pets, and no other dogs. Just Ace.

That does not make Ace bad. It means Ace needs the right setup.

Some dogs want dog buddies. Ace wants his people, his toys, his yard, his routine, and his peace. He needs someone who understands strong young dogs, someone who can give structure, set boundaries, and help him grow into the good boy we know he can be.

Ace is leash trained, but he is a powerful puller, so he needs a confident handler with a firm hand and common sense. He is young, strong, and full of energy, so he needs someone who will guide him not let him run the show.

Ace also has some goofy tough guy quirks. Loud things like vacuums, leaf blowers, loud exhaust, four-wheelers, and lawnmowers can get him worked up. His family said he may act big and brave about the noise, but once he is redirected, he settles and moves on. He just needs someone who understands that his energy needs to be managed, not ignored.

With people, Ace is all heart. He is happy, silly, affectionate, and ready to bond. He wants attention. He wants adventure. He wants someone to pick him and mean it.

Ace has been waiting since his post went up back in May, and that is too long for a young dog who should be learning, playing, running, and coming home tired at the end of the day not growing up in a kennel.

If you have an active lifestyle, a secure setup, no other pets, and the patience for a strong young dog who needs guidance, Ace might be exactly who you have been looking for.

Please share him.
Please ask about him.
Please help us get Ace in front of the right person.

Ace needs a home that understands him.
Ace needs a chance to grow.
Ace needs somebody to say, Come on, buddy. Lets go home.

Waverly Animal Shelter
Humphreys County Humane Society
108 Young Rd, Waverly, TN 37185
Shelter: 931-296-7319
animals@hchswaverly.com

If unable to reach during shelter hours, please contact:
Jennifer Crossett: 253-209-4925

Shelter Hours:
Monday & Friday: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Closed for lunch: 12:00-1:00 PM
Tuesday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-1:00 PM

Adopt, Dont Shop
